The faceting on round cut diamonds also makes colour and inclusions appear better than in other fancy shapes. In fact, these stones are so beloved that over 50% of all diamonds purchased are round cuts – you probably cannot look around without seeing a round diamond engagement or wedding ring. The light refraction in full cut diamonds is much greater due to the larger number of facets, 57 or 58, compared to single cut diamonds. Hence, this type of cut is ideal as a centre stone, side stones for example in an engagement ring or high jewellery piece.
